Two-factor authentication (2FA) and how to enable it

Setting up SMS Authentication

1. Navigate to your account page and click [Profile] - [Security].

2. Click [Enable] next to [SMS Authentication].

3. You will now need to enter your mobile phone number and click [GET CODE].

4. Enter your phone number and email address to receive a 6-digit code, enter it to set up.

5. Once you have received the SMS, input your SMS Authentication Code into the field and click [Confirm].

Setting up Google Authentication

1. Log into your X-Meta account and click [Profile] - [Security].

2. Click [Enable] next to [Google Authentication].

3. You will be redirected to another page. Follow the step-by-step instructions to enable Google Authenticator.

4. Download and install the Google Authenticator App on your mobile device. After you’ve installed the App, click [Next] to continue.

5. You will now see a QR code on your screen.

6. Open the Google Authenticator App and tap on the [+] button on the bottom right of your screen to scan the QR code. Then click [Next].

If you are unable to scan it, you can manually enter the setup code into the app.

7. Save the backup key on paper. This Key will allow you to recover your Google Authenticator in case you lose your phone.

8. Verify your Google Authenticator with your other 2FA devices.

9. Enter your email address to receive a 6-digit code, enter it to set up.

10. You have successfully enabled Google Authenticator to protect your account.
